Rabada helped the Capitals defend the lowest total (10) in a Super Over in IPL history after the scores were tied at 185

Match starts at 8pm (IST).Besides Shaw, Delhi also have the likes of Rishabh Pant, who played a superb knock of 78 to pile up a mammoth 213 against Mumbai Indians in the first match, Shikhar Dhawan, captain Shreyas Iyer and Colin Ingram. They would expect their batsmen China wholesale hollow wall anchors come out all guns blazing against Punjab on Sunday.Delhi Capitals: Shreyas Iyer (capt), Colin Munro, Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Hanuma Vihari, Colin Ingram, Manjot Kalra, Chris Morris, Sherfane Rutherford, Keemo Paul, Axar Patel, Jalaj Saxena, Rahul Tewatia, Rishabh Pant, Ankush Bains, Sandeep Lamichhane, Avesh Khan, Harshal Patel, Trent Boult, Amit Mishra, Kagiso Rabada, Ishant Sharma, Nathu Singh and Bandaru Ayyappa.

In fact, both the teams opening batsmen were the architect of their victory.Rahul has the ability to steady the innings and play sheet anchors role and Gayle can puncture opposition camps plans to control the run flow, something that Delhi would be worried about.Punjabs bowling is spearheaded by Mohammed Shami and with other key players such as Andrew Tye and Hardus Viljoen in their ranks, it may not be easy for the visiting batsmen.Gayle was his usual self and batted in the manner only he can as 36 of his 40-run knock came in boundaries and sixes.Teams (from):Kings XI Punjab: Ravichandran Ashwin (capt), Chris Gayle, Lokesh Rahul, Mohammed Shami, Mayank Agrawal, Karun Nair, Mujeeb Ur Rahman and David Miller, Sam Curran, Varun Chakaravarthy, Nicholas Pooran, Moises Henriques, Hardus Viljoen, Darshan Nalkande, Sarfaraz Khan, Arshdeep Singh, Agnivesh Ayachi, Harpreet Brar, Murugan Ashwin, Andrew Tye, Ankit Rajpoot, Mandeep Singh, Simran Singh.Delhi would be hoping to put up an all-round performance against Punjab, who have shown they are not an easy side to beat.

Playing on home turf, Rahul, who had failed in his first two matches, played a controlled innings while Gayle (40) and Mayank Agarwal (43) also chipped in with crucial runs to help Punjab comfortably chase down the 177-run target, set by Mumbai. Both sides are riding high on confidence having won their respective matches on Saturday.Mohali: With Kagiso Rabadas yorker being the talk of the town, it will be interesting to see how the Delhi Capitals pacer counters the hard-hitting Kings XI Punjab batsmen when the two teams clash in an IPL match here on Monday.Chasing 186 to win against KKR, Delhi were set up nicely by Shaw but they failed score six runs from the last over, taking the match to Super Over.Delhi though will be desperate to get the momentum going after winning a close game.

Rabada helped the Capitals defend the lowest total (10) in a Super Over in IPL history after the scores were tied at 185 in the allotted 20 overs each..Delhi will be hoping not to let that advantage slip. Moreover, Ravichandran Ashwin-led KXIP would also have the advantage of playing at home and they will look to exploit familiar conditions once again. However, Rabadas sensational yorkers in all six balls restricted KKR to just seven runs while chasing 11.While Delhis Prithvi Shaw (55-ball 99) almost took the team home against Kolkata Knight Riders, Rahul (57-ball 71) finished the job for Punjab against Mumbai Indians. The bowling department comprising Kiwi speedster Trent Bolt, Ishant Sharma and Axar Patel besides Rabada, is also capable of causing damage to the opposition.Focus will now be on how the South African paceman would fare against the likes of Chris Gayle, Lokesh Rahul, Mayank Agarwal and David Miller

James Naughtie had read Typhoon and wanted to get me onto the Today programme to talk about it

I had a written a novel, Typhoon, in which disenfranchised Uighur Muslims in China’s Xinjiang province riot against the Han government. By coincidence, a few days before publication, large numbers of Uighurs started doing exactly that, in a curious real-life echo of the book.As one might expect of a journalist who has spent his working life engaging with ministers and mandarins, Naughtie also shares le Carré’s fascination with Whitehall. Time and again, particularly in his late fiction, le Carré puts lead wood screw anchors Suppliers men in rooms and listens to them talk.

What does a character want What is he (or she) prepared to concede It is in the space between words the things we do not say that the truth is often revealed. The body of an American has been found in a cupboard in the House of Commons, a syringe beside the corpse. Le Carré doesn’t really write spy thrillers any more; neither does James Naughtie..The protagonist is Will Flemyng who, despite the symbolic weight of his surname, bears scant resemblance to James Bond. It was like receiving a royal summons. The names of the characters too might have been dreamed up by the author of A Delicate Truth and Our Kind of Traitor: there’s a Mungo, a Janus, even a Gwilym (Peter Guillam was Smiley’s right-hand man in Tinker, Tailor).55 am on the morning of Tuesday, August 5, 2008. Our hero may once have been a spy, but Flemyng is now a minister in the foreign office, carrying a secret from his past that will unravel over six sweltering days in the mid-1970s. Both writers are more interested in human behaviour: in secrets and regret, in ambition and venality.

James Naughtie had read Typhoon and wanted to get me onto the Today programme to talk about it. But as the minutes ticked down towards the interview, I was transformed into a pitiless, gibbering wreck, so nervous of making a fool of myself on national radio that I was tempted to bolt for the door. With practised skill, he eased into the Green Room, coated me in jokes and flattery, then led me into the studio for a conversation that passed in a blur and seemed to go without a hitch. Naughtie does the same, believing that personality is revealed not by action, but by words. Now the veteran broadcaster has written his own thriller, The Madness of July, drawing on nearly 40 years of experience as a journalist on the frontline of politics, diplomacy and espionage. Plotwise, The Madness of July is a slow-burning puzzle populated by a voluminous cast: ministers, ambassadors, whips and spooks, all of whom gradually disinter the conspiracy at the heart of the story. Here is Naughtie describing the latter:

He was what he appeared: a blue blood who pulsed with confidence and bonhomie Half manipulator and half honest broker, oiling the wheels, he was family solicitor to parliamentarians who had to be extricated from an affair or a plot that had backfired; did the deals that had to be done across the floor, behind the arras Along the way, he saved marriages and broke them, gave a career a blessing or prepared it for the end. It turned out that Naughtie is an aficionado of the genre and, in particular, a lifelong admirer of the works of John le Carré. I have seldom come across a novel so redolent of le Carré’s milieu and technique, right down to the appearance of an ormolu clock (one of which, like a Hitchcock cameo, always features in the great man’s books).Readers who approach the book expecting narrative fireworks and edge-of-the-seat suspense may be disappointed. The single most terrifying moment of my adult life occurred at 8.Naughtie could see he had a problem. When it was all over, we talked about spy thrillers.Complex and psychologically detailed, The Madness of July is, to all intents and purposes, a homage to the Master. But did the former CIA man take his own life, or were darker forces at work It’s a clever, intelligent story, not so much a thriller as a political novel by someone who knows the territory intimately

They were supported by a young team of researchers working in two rooms

“The plan was to introduce it around November 18, but there was a clear sign that it could be leaked,” said one person with direct knowledge who, like others who Reuters interviewed, asked not to be named due to the sensitivity of the matter. In reality, he had a direct line to Mr Modi and they would speak in their native Gujarati when they met to discuss issues in depth. “I have done all the research and, if it fails, then I am to blame,” Mr Modi told a Cabinet meeting on November 8 shortly before he announced the move in a televised address, according to three ministers who attended.Colleagues interviewed by Reuters said he had a reputation for integrity and discretion. The Reserve Bank of India also said in May it was making preparations for a new series of banknotes that were confirmed in August when it announced it approved a design for a new Rs 2,000 rupee note. The bureaucrat, revenue secretary Hasmukh Adhia, and five others privy to the plan were sworn to utmost secrecy, say sources.

They were supported by a young team of researchers working in two rooms at the Prime Minister’s residence as Mr Modi plotted his boldest reform since coming to power in 2014.Yet for all the planning, Mr Modi and Mr Adhia knew they couldn’t foresee every eventuality, and were willing to move swiftly.”.Overseeing the drive, with support from the backroom team camped out at Mr Modi’s residence, was Mr Adhia, a top finance ministry official.New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi handpicked a trusted bureaucrat, little known outside India’s financial circles, to spearhead the radical demonetisation move to abolish 86 per cent of the country’s cash overnight and take aim at the huge shadow economy. Mr Adhia was named revenue secretary in September 2015, reporting formally to finance minister Arun Jaitley.Mr Modi has staked his reputation and popularity on the move. The printing presses had only just started turning when the media finally started to run with the story in late October.Immediately after the address, Mr Adhia sent a tweet: “This is the biggest and the boldest step by the government for containing black money.”The boast harked back to Mr Modi’s election vow to recover black money from abroad that resonated with voters fed up with the corruption scandals that plagued the last Congress-led UPA government.”

Under Mr Adhia’s oversight, the team of researchers assembled and modelled the findings in what was, for it, a theoretical exercise. They also say the plan was flawed because of a failure to ramp up the printing of new notes ahead of time. Yet in office, he struggled to keep his promise. When announced, the abolition of the Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes came as a bolt from the blue. He demanded answers to questions such as: how quickly India could print new banknotes; how to distribute them; would state banks benefit if they received a rush of new deposits; and who would gain from the demonetisation? The topics were broken up to prevent anyone from joining the dots and concluding that a cash swap was in the offing. While some economists back the demonetisation move, the speed of its implementation is widely seen as radical. “Had people got a whiff of the decision, the whole exercise would have been meaningless. In the words of one former top official who has worked at the finance ministry and the RBI: “They don’t know what’s happening out in the real world.Over more than a year,

Mr Modi commissioned research from officials at the finance ministry, the central bank and think-tanks on how to advance his fight against black money, a close aide said.Previously unreported details of Mr Modi’s handling of the move open a window onto the hands-on role he has played in implementing a key policy, and how he was willing to act quickly even when the risks were high. Some finance ministry officials had expressed doubts about scrapping high-value notes when the idea came up for discussion. Back in April, analysts at State Bank of India said that the demonetisation of high-value notes was possible. Calling for an act of collective sacrifice, he promised steps to soften the blow for the nine in 10 Indians who live in the cash economy. While some advocates say the scrapping of the notes will bring more money into the banking system and raise tax revenues, millions of Indians are furious as they have to queue for hours outside banks to exchange or deposit their old money. The secrecy was aimed at outflanking those who might profit from prior knowledge, by pouring cash into gold, property and other assets and hide illicit wealth.Secrecy was paramount, but clues had been left.Other critics say the Adhia team fell prey to a form of “groupthink” that completely ignored outside advice.

Mr Modi, in his TV address to the nation, had cautioned that people could face temporary hardship as replacement `500 and `2,000 notes were introduced. They now feel resentment at the secrecy in which Mr Adhia rammed through the plan on Mr Modi’s orders. It was made up of young experts in data and financial analysis; some ran Mr Modi’s social media accounts and a smartphone app that he used to solicit public feedback. The 58-year-old bureaucrat served as principal secretary to Mr Modi from 2003 to 2006 when he was Gujarat chief minister, establishing a relationship of trust with his boss China wholesale nylon easy drive anchors and introducing him to yoga.“We didn’t want to let the cat out of the bag,” said a senior official. “One is never ready for this kind of disruption — but it is a constructive disruption,” said Narendra Jadhav, a 31-year veteran and former chief economist of the RBI who is now a BJP member of the Rajya Sabha

Love, truth and simplicity are the three tools to live a better life.”Advising all to read the book, she added, “This book stands for every person who wants to be able to find an anchor in this crazy world that we live in. But seeing him live the life that he did, and in turn see my father become that, and in turn my entire family converting into being the people that we are, living the lives that we live but at the same time holding onto our faith because that is something so strong.

Someone who is a high achiever, who brought so much to the medical field in India, but at the same time when you see him in his simple dhoti, reciting and invoking Babaji, doing hawans and the simplicity of what he turns into is a dichotomy you don’t see in the modern world today. Everyone is after material pursuits.” Talking about the book she said it would help one “know how in this chaotic, crazy modern world where we are running after ambitions, it is running after becoming the most incredible person we can be that should be the goal.

“It is a dichotomy in my head. Sometimes either one of those two give, but Arvind uncle has a hold on both so much and I truly believe that it is Babaji’s blessings. This will give you the direction to be able to do that and be a corporate yogi. Priyanka Chopra “Money can buy you everything but not internal happiness. Quite recently Prada, Christopher Kane and Loewe among many other designers took a trip down to the race track again and showcased collections that rekindled the romance between men, cars and fashion. Cars were a fundamental part of the image they portrayed. It’s rebellious. And girls like it.Cars have inspired designers across the globe since the day they became a mainstream reality.

So, how do you get geared up for the race Before you put the pedal to the metal in search of a flame-retardant bodysuit, take a look at race-car clothing, refer to the street result in a mix of sportswear and workwear-inspired fits, oversized baggy silhouettes borrowed from the signature shapes of Japanese designers, relaxed denim jeans, straight-cut trousers paired with sweatshirts and jacquard knits, etc. His preference for polarised Carrera sunglasses were rooted in race-car driving, a passion he developed while filming the motorsports motion picture Winning in 1969.”This fall, designers of all stripes championed the car coat, thus named because its hip-length hem allows gentlemen to emerge wrinkle-free after a drive.

When you are an actor you have to be professional and work hard

This is why Rishi Kapoor and Randhir Kapoor both did quite well while Rajiv Kapoor never managed to get that kind of fame. Even as the spotlight firmly shines on the Nehru dynasty in politics and the two Kapoor dynasties (Raj Kapoor and Surindher Kapoor) in films, it hardly ends there. Privilege can get you position, but if you fail at your task, you will fall from great heights. One has to be criticised or commented on, only for their China nylon nail-in anchors Manufacturers functioning, contribution and nothing else,”

he adds. “I don’t think there is any backing. (sic)” Aside from politics, the film industry is one that is known for its dynasties.. “I feel the term ‘dynasty’ or nepotism’ is often exaggerated. It is extremely difficult to successfully follow their ancestor’s footsteps. Just take the Supreme Court judges for instance, who are usually at such a high rung of the justice system because of family influence. When you are an actor you have to be professional and work hard and see to it you choose the right kind of films. And each generation is chosen by public on merit,” he tweeted, adding, “You have to earn people’s respect and love through hard work not zabardasti and gundagardi.. Ausaja.Rishi’s own son, Ranbir, admits freely that he is himself in the film industry thanks to his family’s influence. Rishi Kapoor, part of one of the biggest and most powerful film dynasties lasting four generations, spoke up against the politician,

claiming that just a family backing is not enough, but that one needs to earn respect as well — just as he, Randhir, and Ranbir Kapoor all have.Mr Akhilesh Yadav is a dynast. even Abhishek Bachchan is a dynast. “If you look at Ranbir Kapoor or Sonam Kapoor for that matter, they have managed to make it in the film industry due to their own merit. “Yes, it is unfair to a lot of people who is way more talented than us but we do get opportunity, we do get attention,” he openly admits.Ultimately, it is merit that sees you through, no matter the family backing, whether it is in films, politics or any other field, says actress, speaker and anchor Kasthuri. In fields other than these, family power goes a long way. So, don’t get after me because that’s how India is run.KasthuriBobby Deol, who found it difficult to sustain a career in the film industry despite being from a film background, says that it is only hard work and grit that can see you through. W. So, that’s how India runs. I have never believed that star actors get a lot of benefit or a non-star actor gets less push I think both have to struggle and work hard and make a mark,”

he says. If after coming from such big names, they couldn’t make it in the industry, then how can anyone else? Ultimately, all that family name is able to get you is a launch,” he says.M. “The phenomenon of dynasty power or influence is not just restricted to India — didn’t we see George H. Hema Malini’s daughter, Ahana Deol, also couldn’t make it beyond a side role in one film (Na Tum Jaano Na Hum). With Rishi Kapoor lashing out at Rahul Gandhi for saying that riding on dynasty power is an essential part of India. This has been proved time and again in the film industry, says film historian S.. “Having a background definitely helps in getting a right opening in any profession, but when you are out there, you need to work for it and prove yourself. My father got an opportunity because of his father so I would like to believe if my children choose to be actors I would like to give them a platform,” he says,

adding that he believed that acting is simply the family business. Mr Stalin (son of M Karunanidhi of DMK) is a dynast. Rishi Kapoor spoke about how you need to earn respect, even if you are from a dynasty. However, while family may get you in the door, it is merit that finally sees you through. And it is equally difficult for people who enter into any industry with a background.. Bush’s son entering politics and eventually become the president in the US? The Donald came off second best in the exchanges as all he could say

Stars on trump. The question of race and the lack of diversity in Hollywood must be addressed even if it doesn’t quite apply to the hosts since the Academy chose Whoopi Goldberg to anchor the awards night four times, starting with 1996 when she was the first black woman to host any major American show. How would he know? A reality TV star shouldn’t be judging an individual with 20 Oscar nominations. There is no love lost between Trump and the performing arts’ liberals. What trick Jimmy will be up to is a mystery that will last a day longer but hopefully it won’t be as crass as Neil Patrick Harris running out in his underwear in 2015.His classic line was Trump might run out of options if he contemplated a fourth bride since by then, the US would have no immigrants left.

The Donald came off second best in the exchanges as all he could say was that he didn’t think Streep was all that great an actress. Celebrity late night show host Jimmy Kimmel prepares to host the event “Bash ‘The Donald’ Oscars” Hosting the Oscars could be easily defined as the most challenging task a man or woman can face. Wait, there is more.Meryl Streep set the ball rolling with her take down as soon as Trump occupied the office of the free world’s most powerful man.Jimmy&drop in anchors bolts039;s classic line was Trump might run out of options if he contemplated a 4th bride since by then, the US would have no immigrants left. If Chris rocked last season by selling his daughter’s # Girl Scout cookies (for a handsome $65,000 worth),

Ellen Degeneres touched our hearts with that selfie in 2014. But Kimmel too is an appropriate choice, for he has shown a talent to deadpan his way while roasting celebrities. This is open ‘Trump’ season and the wickedest one-liners and the best put-downs can be expected to pepper the proceedings. He had a go at both the candidates in the election season, but it did appear there was certain relish to be discerned whenever he roasted Trump on his show, having enormous fun at the new President’s immigration policies by reminding him how he had married three immigrants. In keeping with Hollywood culture of producing thrillers, the show has a rich tradition of slick presentation of the performing arts with the latest technology enhancing its appeal. A worldwide television audience from 225 countries is stupendous by itself and to go out to them live adds to the enormity of the task ahead.

“The Oscars are in great hands with Jimmy,” said Academy CEO Dawn Hudson. Art in any form reflects the society it springs from. The Oscars ceremony is a gripping live show with the pace of a sporting event.”So it is guaranteed Jimmy will make us laugh, but in these times will he make us think about the reality of the real world? Can’t wait to see the Twitter war explode soon as Trump lets his fingers do the talking in 140-character wisdom after Jimmy’s bout of humour. That’s because liberal Hollywood has taken his pants off in the figurative sense thus far.Chris was brilliant in his monologues in taking down the cinematic stereotypes of Beverly Hills.Of late, the Academy Awards have been overtaken by the diversity question. But this year, as celebrity late night show host Jimmy Kimmel prepares to host the event, there is also the added pressure of a Twitter-happy President who must be sharpening his knives to critique the show.An eclectic roster has been setting the tone and tenor of the awards night as the host. But, by his own admission, Jimmy loves controversy. Chris Rock became the most appropriate anchor last year when Hollywood roasted itself on its own lack of diversity

In building her novel concept of managing waste

“Doing justice to both was definitely no cakewalk, but I felt that I had to do it to become financially independent and help other women do the same,” she recalls. A good home is one where children learn to respect their mothers, and it is the mothers who must bring this about through their own actions,” she affirms. Even my extended family never complained about my job,” she says.

It helps me straddle different roles as a multi-tasker. My elder son and daughter help in running our offices across different cities. “There weren’t any conflicts in my family regarding my work. Running from pillar to post and striking a balance in her life are two things that Nirmala has mastered by now. She says, “I had gained 17 kg during my pregnancy and that really made me appreciate the need for a weight management solution. Like most young mothers, Nirmala’s first priority had been looking after and nurturing her kids. “My son and daughter are my core strength. My younger son did an MBA in Finance and now handles finances at Vivam. I can share all my feelings with them as I would with friends. Now, Varun is all grown up and is also bringing ideas of his own to the table that we are looking forward to applying this year,” she shares. EVM would lose its originality

Referring to the party’s demand to allow it to tamper with the motherboard of the machine, the EC said “allowing any change of the motherboard or any internal circuit of the EVM is like saying that anyone should be permitted to manufacture a new machine and introduce newly made EVMs in EC system, which is implausible and irrational”.

The poll watchdog also said the demonstration held inside the Delhi assembly to prove that the machines can be hacked was carried out on a “look alike” EVM and not on the one used by the Election Commission. The proposed challenge is on June 3 for which seven national and 48 regional parties recognised by the EC have been invited.”Such so called demonstration on extraneous and duplicate gadgets, which are not owned by the EC cannot be misused and exploited to mislead and influence our intelligent citizens to assail or vilify the EVMS used by the Commission,” it told AAP..
